What you learn at MicDrop

MicDrop isn’t just a workshop — it’s a two-day masterclass designed to give young singers the skills, confidence, and insider knowledge usually reserved for the pros. Here’s what’s inside:

A whole day of singing songs you love!

We skip the choir standards and dive into pop songs you know and love — think Billie Eilish, Bruno Mars, Alicia Keys, Harry Styles with just a hint of musical theatre to mix things up. What you get: singing feels fun and relevant, which makes it easier to engage, practice and grow confidence.

Unlock your voice with a pro-level vocal toolkit you can keep building on

From the very first warm-up, you discover how your voice really works. With expert guidance, you’ll explore range, posture, breath, and vocal health — setting a strong foundation that makes everything else easier, safer, and more powerful.

Master contemporary vocal technique

Get a deeper understanding of your unique sound. Riffs, runs, tone shaping, chest↔head voice transitions, belting and dynamics — these are the tools today’s top artists use to stand out. You will learn how to apply them to the songs they love, transforming the way they sound.

The art of harmonies & collaboration

Singing with others takes skill — listening, blending, balancing. In MicDrop, you’ll experience the magic of harmonising, building layers of sound, and creating something bigger than themselves. It’s teamwork at its most inspiring.

Stagecraft and mic skills that set you apart

Great singers don’t just sound amazing — they command the stage. You will learn how to move with confidence, connect with an audience, and use the mic as an extension of your performance. Every exercise is supportive, practical, and designed to build lasting confidence.

Confidence in performance

The workshop culminates in a relaxed showcase where singers step into the spotlight and share what they’ve created. It’s not about perfection — it’s about presence, expression, and celebrating progress in a way that feels unforgettable.

Insider knowledge + practice hacks to keep improving at home

At every step, acclaimed vocalist Angela Librandi shares the kind of real-world tips and insights you only get from someone who’s performed with legends. Singers leave not just inspired, but armed with advice that accelerates their growth long after the workshop.

The agenda:

DAY 1: VOICE LAB:
Style & Sound
10am - 4pm

Day 1 is all about exploring your voice and discovering what it can do. Think of it as a creative lab for sound, style and self-expression – relaxed, fun, and full of discovery.

We’ll start with a group warm-up that feels more like a jam than a class – connecting over the music you love, loosening up, and picking up simple vocal health tips to keep your voice strong.

From there, we open up your vocal toolbox: experimenting with twang, runs, chest↔head voice, belting and storytelling. You’ll try these tools out through popular songs, finding new colours in your voice without the pressure of solos.

Next comes the improv jam – a chance to play with ad libs, riffs and fresh ideas. There’s no right or wrong here, just freedom to explore and see where your voice can go.

In song lab 1, the group comes together to learn and rehearse our showcase songs. You’ll build harmonies, experiment with blend and balance, and feel the energy of singing as an ensemble.

We’ll wrap up with a mini-showcase – a relaxed, low-pressure share for family and friends. It’s less about perfection and more about celebrating the music you’ve created together.

👉 Day 1 is perfect if you want to get more confident with your voice — whether you’ve only ever sung in your room or you’ve had lessons before.

DAY 2: PERFORMANCE LAB:
Mics & Stagecraft
10am - 4pm

Day 2 is all about bringing songs to life and feeling comfortable on stage. Think of it as a creative lab for performance, expression and confidence – supportive, high-energy, and full of growth.

We’ll kick off with a big group singalong and dynamic warm-up to get voices and energy flowing. Then it’s time to build on Day 1: adding power, stamina and control so your voice feels strong and performance-ready.

In next-level performance, you’ll explore how to use body language, movement and the mic to connect with an audience. Everyone gets short turns in the spotlight with supportive coaching – so it’s fun, safe, and surprisingly empowering.

Song lab 2 is where everything comes together. You’ll refine harmonies, polish stage presence, practise entrances and exits, and prepare our showcase songs as a group. With optional solos, there’s always space to step forward if you’re ready.

We finish with the MicDrop Showcase – a joyful, uplifting performance for family and friends. It’s the big celebration of everything you’ve achieved across the two days, with plenty of applause, proud smiles and maybe even a few goosebumps.

👉 Day 2 works as a stand-alone – all songs and activities are taught on the day, so you’re welcome even if you didn’t attend Day
