MicDrop is a two-day school holiday workshop for teens aged 12–17 who love to sing — whether you’re stage-ready or just belting in the shower.
Led by pro vocalist Angela Librandi and event producer Dina Zaitman, you’ll learn contemporary vocal techniques, explore new styles, and perform in a fun, no-pressure space.
Belt out songs you actually like, pick up skills you’ll use, and wrap it all up with a mini showcase. No awkward warm-ups. No lame song choices. Just solid vibes, epic tips, and a big confidence boost.

What you'll learn
🎶 How to choose the 'right' songs
No choir classics here. You’ll have a go at pop songs from artists like Billie Eilish, Bruno Mars, SZA and Harry Styles.
🧠 contemporary vocal techniques
Think riffs, runs, tone control, dynamics — the tools real artists use to make a song their own.
🎤 Microphone skills
Experiment with group and solo vocals, mic technique, and stage presence — all in a no-pressure, supportive space.
💫 Stage presence & connection
Grow your skills and self-belief, even if you’ve never sung in front of anyone before. No auditions. No judgement.

Who's running the show:Meet Angela
Angela Librandi is a powerhouse vocalist with over 30 years on Australia’s biggest stages. She’s performed with icons like Tina Arena, Hugh Jackman, Chaka Khan, Jon Stevens, and Kate Ceberano, and appeared on shows like Dancing With The Stars and Australian Idol.
She’s not just an incredible performer, she’s spent 25+ years coaching young singers to find their sound, own the stage, and feel good doing it.

The agenda:
DAY 1: VOICE LAB:
Explore + Create
10am - 4pm
We’ll start with a big group warm-up that feels more like a jam session than a class — zero pressure, just fun. Then we'll move into developing your vocal foundation and exploring your sound in a fresh, modern way.
We'll cover:

Vocal technique for contemporary singing - posture, breath, tone, riffs, runs etc..

Smart warm-ups for stamina, flexibility and control

Try pop and indie tracks in a group setting

Rhythm, pitch and texture play

Harmonies + optional co-writing session
Wrap-up and prep for Day 2 (if you’re continuing)
🎶 Perfect if you’ve done classical or music theatre and want to branch out into contemporary singing in a fun, down-to-earth environment!
DAY 2: PERFORMANCE LAB:
Rehearse + Shine
10am - 4pm
Day 2 is all about performance, expression, and vocal delivery.
We'll cover:

Vocal warm-up + quick recap of Day 1 tools

Rehearse selected songs with live coaching

Try solos or small-group features (optional!)

Performance tips - mic technique, movement, mindset

Low-key dress rehearsal and final showcase
All songs will be taught on the day, so you’re totally welcome even if you didn’t attend Day 1.
🌟 Over the 2 days, you’ll learn up to 5 songs - some in groups, others in pairs or clusters. The final performance features 2-3 songs, with optional solo or harmony parts.

Pricing
Early bird 2-day pass: $250
Regular 2-day pass: $280
Single-day pass (Day 1 or Day 2): $150
What you get for that: 12 hours with a pro vocalist, performance experience, take-home resources, new skills, and probably some new friends. Compare that to private lessons (usually $80+ per hour) and it's pretty great value.
